Roundtable "Regulation of non-alcoholic energy drinks: planned change to the law"

Clients: member companies of the Association of European Business: Coca-Cola Beverages Belarus, Vlanpak, Red Bull, PepsiCo and other non-alcoholic energy drinks producers

Objectives: to present the companies position on the issue of regulation of non-alcoholic energy drinks in connection with the plans of the governmental authorities to limit retail sale of such beverages.

Description: the round table was held on January 23d, 2015 in the conference room of the hotel "Minsk". It was attended by representatives of Coca-Cola Beverages Belarus, Union of non-alcoholic drinks and mineral water producers, Scientific Research Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Association of European Business, Minsk Regional Clinical Center "Psychiatry-narcology", Ministry of Health, National Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, mass media.

Result: as a result of the event, the AEB prepared an analytical report which, together with the materials of the round table, was sent to the Council of Ministers and other governmental authorities. The companies’ representatives showed that the proposed restrictive measures are excessive and the question was removed from the agenda of the governmental authorities responsible for the regulation of this sector.
