The AEB proposals were taken into account when finalizing the rules on setting excise rates on tobacco products in 2022

The AEB proposals were taken into account by the Ministry of Finance when finalizing the norms of the draft Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Amendments to Certain Laws of the Republic of Belarus" regarding the establishment of excise rates on tobacco products in 2022:

1. Consolidation into one group of cigarettes of II and III price groups with a phased (1 time in half a year) increase in excise rates on them (an increase in the rate of excise taxes on cigarettes of price group II, applied in the second half of 2021, by 15 percent), in the second half of the year 2022 - 86.36 rubles per 1000 pieces of cigarettes (an increase of 4 percent).
2. With regard to the boundaries of the price groups of filter cigarettes, it is envisaged to increase their ranges from January 1, 2022 by 30 kopecks and an additional increase from July 1, 2022 by 10 kopecks, which is calculated based on the increase in the excise rate of cigarettes of the II combined price group, taking into account the tax on added value and trade markup.
